I am pleased to have found this thread as I thought I was going completely mad. I have an ongoing issue with this person whose email keeps disappearing, so will monitor the situation to see if his emails remain or disappear. I have also removed ALL rules, some of which are quite old and were actually junk filters. In Outlook, for example, in the advanced configuration of the account, there’s an option to Leave a copy of messages on the server. The result is that after the email is copied to your PC, it’s removed from the mail service’s server. So now I have switched all of the junk filtering to off to see what might happen. POP3, by default, moves the email from the email server to your PC. Maybe that causes issues with certain emails. Its possible the missing email was caught by Gmails spam filter. I have enabled junk mail filtering and also used advanced filtering methods, but that covers all my emails not just iCloud. There could be a coincidence as Cee says that I have heightened my spam filtering rules in my Mac Mail, i.e. Why Yahoo Emails Disappeared from Inbox Head into the Trash folder before 7 days. In previous instances when this happened when I did a rebuild on Mac Mail, but didn't know this is what I had to do, the missing email arrived in my Mac Mail in a new folder that got created recovered messages. My occurrence and spotting this issue was opening my iPad email, seeing an email from someone, which I was indeed expecting and then seeing it disappear in front of my eyes. I have done all the necessary steps as outlined here: and also rebuilt the mailbox. Deselect and again recheck the Enable this account option. Check the inbox to see whether emails are there. Type your email and password to finally re-add your email account to your device. Head back to the Mail, Contact, Calendars and then select the Add Account option. Open Mail Preferences from Mail option in the top blue ribbon. Once there, locate and enter your email account and then choose the Delete Account option. Check to see if the Inbox emails missing problem persists. In the past few months, I decided to use my email iCloud account for personal correspondence in place of gmail and I am not sure if the reason I stopped using iCloud was this issue but I am also experiencing this regularly with one specific email from one specific company. Now, Go to Mailbox menu and click on Rebuild.
